1st Grade

I can't believe we are already headed into the 11th week of school! This year has been a whirlwind of learning, excitement and setting new routines. I'm trying to move into this century by Blogging & Tweeting. It's slow and not so steady!
I started my blog this summer and I'm determined to get it off the ground this year. Thank you to those who are sticking with my random blogging. I hope to get better. I do give out fuzzies if your children mention the blog!
I love the beginning of school with the smell of new crayons, scented markers, fresh glue sticks and all of the other fabulous new school supplies. We have been using our new supplies and getting our routines set with many learning opportunities happening each day.
I love my new class of First Grade Friends. They are meshing together and we have started off to a great year.
Some of my favorite memories of the first 48 days include; Getting to know you activities, Jitter Juice, Magic Play-doh, self-portraits, name collage, Daily 5 introduction, Kevin Henkes Author Study, Laura Numeroff Author Study, apples, changes in heat science experiments, Mystery Readers, pumpkin exploration, Grandparent's Day, Shadow, Fuzzies, Candy Land, Red Ribbon Week & so much more.
Our Character Champions for the 1st 6 weeks were: Ally & Jake. They exhibited awesome citizenship!
I can't wait to see what the next 50 days include! Tuesday we will celebrate the 50th Day of School in 1st Grade. I can't wait to see the students dressed in their favorite 1950's attire.
Hopefully this weekend... Pictures can follow!
